In the afternoon of day 2, we conduct Sketching, the creation of concepts.
We strictly follow the process outlined in Jake Knapp’s book ‘Sprint.’
Sprint participants work individually in their own bubble. These moments in the sprint are called ‘work alone together.’ Each person works alone but collectively and with the aim of achieving common objectives.
The concept sketching process consists of 4 stages:
- Note-taking (approx. 20 minutes)
- Seeking inspiration, reviewing previous exercise notes individually…
- Drawing initial ideas (approx. 20 minutes)
- At this stage, the focus is on quantity rather than quality.
- Crazy 8 (8 minutes)
- A fast-paced exercise used for prioritization and selecting key elements around which the concept revolves.
- Solution sketch (approx. 45 minutes)
- This is the concept that will be presented anonymously to the rest of the group the next day.
These exercises are demonstrated and guided by the facilitator. Examples are provided to illustrate the expected output for each stage. We play soft music to allow all participants to reach a deep level of concentration.
Participants who wish can further refine their concept in the evening, calmly at home, in preparation for the discovery on day 3.
